Hi! My name is Stephanie Skeen and I am excited to be a part of the About Play team! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Stevenson University and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Loyola University. I am also certified in infant through adult Special Education. I was an early childhood classroom teacher for 10 years. After that, I went on to work with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in many different capacities including direct support professional, program coordinator, and case manager. I am married with 1 daughter and 2 dogs. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, reading, and going to the beach. One of my favorite hobbies is stand up paddleboarding.
Originally from Maryland, I moved to South Carolina in August 2025 and found About Play when I was researching jobs in the disabilities services field. I love that About Play is person-centered and provides individualized support for both the children and their families. I have always had a passion for working with children and I developed a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities throughout my career. I am excited to be able to support children and their families to help them live their best lives!
