Hi! My name is Shelbey DeLange. I am originally from Michigan but moved down to the Charlotte area 19 years ago and recently moved to Rock Hill just last year. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Sociology and focused mainly on child and family development. I always knew I wanted to work with children and have worked as a teacher assistant in an elementary school, as support staff for ages 1-4 years old in a daycare. I also have experience as a teacher in a younger 2-year-old class at a daycare. I realized that a classroom setting wasn’t where I felt that I would be able to make the greatest impact. Early intervention was a career I learned about in college and am just now learning how perfect of a fit it is for me after hearing about the company About Play. I love working with children one on one and focusing on their specific needs and interests to help them grow and learn. Watching children reach such great milestones through play and being an extra support system for the child and their families is something that I am so excited to be a part of. I am very thankful to be able to work for a company like About Play and can’t wait to work with the children and families in my community.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, being outside, and hanging out my friends and family.
