Hi! My name is Rachel Collins. Beginning in the Upstate, to the Lowcountry, then to the Pee Dee, and now back in the Upstate, I have been blessed to call South Carolina my home for my entire life. From an early age, I have been passionate about working with children. So, naturally I pursued a future in education. In 2012, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education from the College of Charleston. In addition, I earned my Master of Education Degree in Teaching and Learning: Experiential Learning for Early Childhood from Clemson University in 2019. I began my professional career in the classroom setting as a teacher for 10+ years.
As a lifelong learner, I take joy in researching and experiencing new things. This led me to exploring the world of Early Intervention and discovering About Play. I am excited for the opportunity to work with About Play and continue my passion to work with young children as an Early Interventionist. I am dedicated to helping all children in their growth and development through play and other developmentally appropriate practices, in order to help them reach their full potential and achieve their milestones, all while supporting and nurturing their individual needs.
In my free-time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Michael Ross, my dog, Sophie, and my family and friends. I also love going for walks, curling up with a good book, listening to a pop-culture podcast, enjoying a nice cup of coffee or crispy Diet Coke, and filling my home with fresh flowers.
