Hello! My name is Natalie Simmons, and I am from Aiken, S.C. In high school, I always knew that I wanted to work with children. In college, I decided that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher, but that quickly changed after I took my first special education course. I graduated from Lander University with a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies. During my internship at Gleamns Head Start as a student, I learned a lot about working with children in a school environment. Working at summer camps and as a daycare assistant at a church has also given me a lot of experience interacting with kids of all ages and backgrounds.

I became interested in early intervention because my goal was to be able to provide families who needed services to help their children flourish both inside and outside of the classroom. After conducting my research, I came across About Play. I am excited to get started on this journey with About Play!

I enjoy traveling, trying out new restaurants, and learning how to prepare cuisine from other cultures in my spare time. In my free time, I also enjoy taking nature walks, visiting small festivals in different cities to support local businesses, and spending time with friends and family.
