I am Kamisha Young, and I graduated from Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. I have several years of experience with office management and leadership, where I have developed employees, contributed to finding qualified candidates, walked through the hiring process, and managed employee onboarding. I truly enjoy seeing people find their passion and purpose through their service and work.
I began my journey with About Play in 2020, and since then, I have worked with numerous families and children across South Carolina. I have built significant relationships and have seen children grow from birth until school and beyond. I have been able to witness firsthand the importance of a child getting the necessary support and tools they need to help them thrive at their greatest potential. I absolutely love each of the children, and they are really near and dear to my heart! As an EI/ Recruiter Coordinator, I can connect with our local partners, meet students, families, and professionals who are interested in joining our About Play family. I look forward to making sure that everyone who comes to work for About Play feels at home and is a part of our family. I am grateful to be a part of someone finding their purpose, passion, and discovering what they truly love to do!
I reside in Columbia with my husband, and I enjoy spending time with my family, serving, mentoring, and working on my writing projects
