Hiya! My name is Blythe Lybrand and I was born and raised in Columbia, SC. After falling in love with Eastern Tennessee throughout my years of attending the National Storytelling Festival, I pursued my Bachelor’s Degree in General Psychology at East Tennessee State University. I was accepted into the Honors College for my photography and abstract art, and completed a research thesis my senior year on Marginal Significance. I additionally obtained academic minors in both Art and Environmental Studies as my desire to learn translated to a variety of subjects I adore.

I am thrilled to be apart of the About Play family! After over a decade and a half of nannying and working with children, as well as my love for behavioral psychology, I have developed a passion for helping children learn about the world around them. I am invested in ensuring each child is provided with the tools to overcome personal challenges, excel in their natural environment, and most importantly, be a kid!

I aspire to one day combine the ideals of psychology, art, and the environment to be an art therapist for children and adults alike. For now, I find my greatest comfort in cuddling with my grey tabby cat (Douglass Fir), sculpting pottery, traveling abroad, and making memories in nature. As they say, it takes a village; I look forward to being apart of that village and guiding these young ones to grow and thrive
