Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Crawford, and I’m originally from Aurora, Ohio, a small suburb just outside of Cleveland. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I’ve always been passionate about working with children, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to nanny, babysit, serve as a summer camp counselor, and work in after-school care at the YMCA.
In high school, I even started a club called the ABC Club, which focused on creating inclusive activities for students in special education. Supporting and advocating for children has always been close to my heart, and I’m so excited to continue doing that with About Play. I found the company while searching for jobs in the Charleston area, and as soon as I read About Play’s mission, I knew it aligned with my values and the kind of meaningful work I wanted to do. I’m thrilled to be part of a team that makes such a positive impact.
What I look forward to most is celebrating each child’s individual milestones and helping families support their children in everyday life. Every success, big or small, is something to celebrate!
When I’m not working, you can find me at the gym, going for walks or runs, crafting, reading, enjoying the beach, or spending time with family and friends. I’m energetic, adaptable, and deeply committed to helping every child achieve their goals. I can’t wait to serve the Charleston community and build strong, lasting connections with the families I work with!
