Hi! My name is Beth Stephenson. I grew up in Darlington, SC and graduated from North Greenville University in 2007 with a BA in Elementary Education. I knew in my youth that I would choose a career working with children. I loved rocking babies in my church nursery and made money in high school by babysitting, mentoring students at summer camp, and tutoring. I have worked professionally with children through the years as an elementary classroom teacher and as a paraprofessional in special education.

I first learned about early intervention in 2014 when my twin daughters were three months old and needed some assistance in reaching their developmental milestones. I watched my girls grow and progress each week with guidance and love from our own amazing Early Interventionist. This experience made me realize a career shift from teaching to early intervention was a perfect fit! I am thrilled to work for About Play and to serve the families in my community.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my four children! We love hiking and kayaking the beautiful parks in SC. In 2016, I earned the title of Ultimate Outsider which means I have visited all 47 of South Carolina’s State Parks. I also enjoy caring for our pets which include: a dog, a pig, cats, chickens, ducks, guinea hens, and geese!
