Hello everyone! My name is Adrian Sims and I was born and raised in Bishopville, SC. I attended Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC, and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. After that, I made the decision to then get my Master of Science degree in Developmental Disabilities with a concentration in Child Life from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. From an early age, I have always enjoyed working with children. In any capacity, I have chosen children over anyone else. I have always wanted to be their biggest supporter. It wasn’t until college that I realized how much I enjoyed working with children in the educational environment. Previously, I worked with twin girls with autism as their caregiver, and I have also worked in two different Title 1 elementary schools as an Interventionist and Special Education Assistant. These have been the times I have realized my true passion of working with children and helping them achieve their academic goals. I am looking forward to doing the same thing with this job. What is different with this job is that it will give me the opportunity to work one-on-one with children, and I will get the chance to know the families and children better and serve their needs better. I heard about this job through my friends who are elementary school teachers in the Kershaw County School District.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my friends, my boyfriend, going to the beach, reading, and watching college sports, especially the Clemson Tigers. I look forward to meeting everyone!
