Halloween Hoopla

Location: EdVenture Children’s Museum at 211 Gervais St., Columbia, SC 29201

Supported by a grant from the TD Foundation, Special Nights for Special Needs is open to families of children with disabilities or sensory sensitivities. The museum will offer lowered lighting, lowered music, limited number of visitors, as well as programming from our education team, and resources from our partner organizations. A calming room will be available for guests in the Home Safe Home exhibit.

Advanced registration is required for this event, to limit the number of guests in the building.

Feed the Ghost

This activity focuses on: hand-eye coordination, fine motor development

Materials:

  • Black and orange pom poms
  • Black Sharpie
  • Empty and cleaned out Lysol wipes container

First, Rinse and clean out your empty Lysol wipes container thoroughly. Remove the label. Take a back sharpie and draw the face of a ghost on the outside of the containers. Sort out the black and orange pom poms. You can also add purple and green pom poms for a collection of Halloween colors. Last, invite your toddler to feed the ghost – who is very hungry.
