Sidewalk Chalk Game
This activity focuses on: hand-eye coordination, imitating sounds, gross motor development
Materials:
- Chalk
Here is a fun and crazy quick to setup gross motor activity that is EASY, SIMPLE, FUN, and ENGAGING for little ones. Simply draw various shapes in different colors in a grid pattern (When you are drawing the shapes, keep in mind that your kiddo will have to able to make it from one end to the other. So you will have to have like colors and/or shapes close enough together to make this possible.) Next, draw a start line and a finish line. Call out either a shape or a color and your little one has to hop from the start line to the finish line by only touching the shape or the color that you called out. It helps to reinforce colors and shapes and includes one thing that toddlers love doing…hopping!
Follow-up Activity: Add letters and numbers to the shapes to help them identify it as they hop along.
